Peace deal abolition can set off grim consequences: Orakzai

PESHAWAR: Governor of NWFP Ali Muhammad Jan Orakzai has hoped Monday local Taliban in North Waziristan region would reconsider to their decision and will carry on the peace deal with the government.
Talking to Geo News in Peshawar NWFP governor said he would try his best to continue the North Waziristan deal.
He said abolition of the agreement could set off grim consequences due to which he has sent members of peace committee to North Waziristan for talks with the local Taliban.
He said local Taliban have made hurry in termination of the peace deal.
They have complaints about establishment of new checkposts and delay in payment of compensation.
He said the government is already working on the compensation issue and Rs 130 million out of total 310 million amount has been distributed among local Taliban as financial assistance.
