PESHAWAR: Peshawar Police thwarted a terrorist plot in Saddar Bazaar Peshawar and recovered a huge amount of explosives from vehicles here on Saturday.
Chief Capital Police Abdul Majeed Marwat told that Peshawar Police have foiled a terrorist bid by recovering ten kilograms of explosive from a Alto Vehicles No-AEG-622 parked outside the Askari Bank at Fakhar-e-Alam Road Saddar.
The police discovered the explosives when the vehicles parked caught fire all of sudden. The local calls upon the fire brigade to doused the fire. Police also reached at the same time. During the search of the vehicles police recovered two anti tank mines from the vehicles that have the capacity for vast destruction.
Abdul Majeed Marwat further said that the owners of the vehicle are still at large, However, case has been registered against unknown terrorists.
Head of the bomb disposal squad Col. Imran Zia while speaking to the journalists said that they have defused two anti tank mines which were linked with timer. And if timely measures were not taken then it might create vast destruction.
