Low lying areas in Nowshera, Mardan, Peshawar likely to submerge
PESHAWAR, June 29 (APP): Pakistan Meteorological Department Flood Forecasting Division Lahore has forecast that Kabul, Swat, Shah Alam, Naguman, Khunhar and Jundai Rivers are likely to attain high to very high flood level between two p.m on Friday to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Kabul river at Warsak, Nowshera and Adezai, Swat river at Munda Head Works, Amandara, Khwazakhela, Shah Alam river at Takhtabad, Naguman river at Charsadda Road, Kunhar river at Garhi Habibullah and Jundi river at Charsadda are likely to attain high to very high flood levels between 2 p.m. on Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday, said a press release here on Friday.
Flash flooding is also expected in the adjacent ravines and nullahs of Malakand Division along with northern areas. Low laying areas of Nowshera, Mardan and Peshawar are likely to submerge.
Similarly a report from the field Revenue Staff Charsadda stated that there is high flood in river Kabul at village Gamat which may cause severe damage to the protection wall in the area due to which the residential areas and schools are in great danger.
Instructions have already been issued to the revenue field staff for immediate rescue operation in order to save lives and property of the people.
