PESHAWAR: A local court on Monday dismissed the bail applications of the son of an MPA of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and his companion who were arrested on charges of carrying liquor and fake currency notes.
Peshawar Judicial Magistrate Ihsanul Haq dismissed the bail applications of Samiullah Khan, son of MPA Abdul Razzaq Mujadadi, and his friend Abdul Haq after detailed arguments by Peshawar District Bar Association President Maulana Shamsul Haq.
Shamsul Haq in his submissions stated that his clients were falsely implicated in the case and thus should be released on bail. He claimed that liquor and fake currency were not recovered from their possession.
The state counsel, however, rejected the petitioners’ plea, saying that police arrested them and recovered liquor and fake currency from their possession when they were going from Hayatabad to Bannu, their home district.
